Our organization was approved as a pioneer organization in Thanjavur District for the welfare schemes of the women in the year 1998 by the Tamilnadu Women Development Corporation.

  • To get financial assistance from nationalized banks.
  • To open accounts in Nationalized banks
  • Encourage to repay the loan amount properly.

Financial assistance is provided after the completion of six months from the date of inception of Self Help Group. Functions are evaluated and accordingly help is provided to get financial assistance through banks based on savings, internal lending and record maintenance. Revolving fund (cash credit), NABARD support and linkage services through nationalized banks, Economic Activity (SGSY, THADCO, DIC, PMRY) are some examples of the financial assistance provided for the women groups.

Vazhi kattum Thittam' is a rehabilitation scheme for Differently abled persons in Thanjavur District. The services would be made available at their doorsteps. In this project 50 Panchayat-level organisers for 58 panchayats and one block level coordinators have been appointed under this program. The differently abled welfare organizers and coordinators appointed in association with non governmental organizations, such as Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan for Orathanadu block would be involved in prevention, identification, early intervention and implementation of the rehabilitation measures of the State and Central government. Among them organizers we appointed were differently abled persons, relatives or siblings of differently abled persons and persons from below poverty line families. Each organizer is assigned to look after one particular village Panchayat or other local bodies with a population of 6,000. The coordinators would get a monthly remuneration of Rs.2000 while the workers would be paid Rs.750 a month. In order to implement the scheme, the Office is working in coordination with other non government organizations.

TJSB found out 51 disabled persons to work under the scheme from 58 Panchayats and also helped them to receive benefits available to them from Government. We are also on the process of identifying the Differently abled person and make them to avail the benefits.

Tamil university, Thanjavur - has nominated Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan secre-tary as a member in women’s Harassment Prevention cell in University and colleges to uphold and enquire the problems among the Employees of both gender and to prevent any kind of harassment in the work-place.

TN-FORCES is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-religious Network of Organi-zation established to Advocate the cause of the young child belonging to the poorest sections of society. Its membership includes NGOs, Child Welfare and Educational Institutions, Women’s Organizations, Trade Unions, Professional Associations and Academic and Research Institutions. This was formed on the lines of National FORCES, a Network of NGOs established in all States in India. There are 132 member organizations under the Network of TN-FORCES.

TJSB is also a member of the TN FORCES. We work through this for the welfare of the young children, Aanganwadi employees to understand their rights and duties. It also works for the welfare of the children aged 0 to 6 with the help of TN FORCES.

During the year, on May 1st , August 15th , October 2nd and January 26th we created awarness regarding Children Rights in Grama Sabhas. To make sure Children Rights, we distributed the Guides and Handbills to the members of Grama Sabha. At our offices and Panchayat Offices,we exhibited 8 kind of de-signed posters that sent by State Authorities which listed out the importance of Grama Sabha Meets.

This federation is operational all through TN with 135 members. This focuses on Rights of young children maintenance and development. As this is one of our major visions, we work with this federation to achieve our united object. Since last 15 years we execute and expand the State level young children develop-ment schemes and principles.

In addition to it we also encourage con-current field work, summer placement training, Block placement training, Ru-ral Camp from other colleges and institutions.
