Greetings from Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan

Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan is a voluntary organization started with service motto of “Reaching the Unreached”. Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan started from 14th August 1991 onwards working towards the empowerment of the poorest of the poor in the rural areas and laying successful pathways for the empowerment of women and children. Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan is a registered Organization under the Tamilnadu society registration act 27 of 1975. s.no,. Of 47 of 1991.

Thanjai Janaseva Bhavan has been working in the three blocks namely Thanjavur, Orathanadu, Budalur in the fields of Women and Child welfare, formation of Women Self Help Groups and micro credit promotion. As for 1,26,865 members were benefited namely women, Children, PWDs, Adolescent, youth, formers and entrepreneurs.

Rehabilitation for differently abled persons has been concentrated in the Orathandu block. After the survey the identified persons have been visited and educated on the necessary awareness about the cause of disability and other important topics. Hitherto people have had superstitious beliefs and considered disability as a fate. They also did not have access to resources in terms of reha-bilitation. Even the resources available are limited and far away from their reach.

Under this circumstance we have initiated the process of empowering the dif-ferently abled persons, as it requires a comprehensive developmental approach rather than serving their basic needs.
